Dental Insurance Plus, Broken Tooth
After having a root canal done, the dentist put on a temp crown stating I would need to come back for my more permanent crown. But since at the time I could not afford a permanent crown I never went back. Now three months latter the temp crown fell off and I think I may have also broke a part of what was left of the tooth. Now I have a hole in my tooth. My appoint is in three more days. The dentist was going to put the new crown on. What will he do now?
Reply: Well it just depends if you broke any part of the tooth or not. Hopefully you only lost a part of the build up. The dentist can redo that and put on your new crown.
However, hard to say until you see the dentist three days is not too much longer to wait, though you do not want to run the risk of doing any more damage to the tooth. I would call the dental office and see if they advise you to come in sooner.
Also you if cost is a factor for a new crown you may want to think about getting either a dental HMO insurance plan or a dental discount plan. Both of these plan options are low in cost and will help reduce your cost for a crown.
